Emily Clarke, MD Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery
Emily Clarke, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. Emily is local to the area as she grew up in Laguna Niguel, CA, and is excited to be back serving her community.
Dr. Clarke completed her B.S. in Physiological Science at UCLA before becoming a person divided by obtaining her M.D. at the rival Keck School of Medicine at USC. There, she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, a society designated for top-performing medical students in the country. She then came back home to Orange County to complete her orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine. There, she served as the administrative chief resident, leading her peers. She subsequently completed her fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the world-renowned Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center.
Dr. Clarke’s practice includes all facets of surgery from the shoulder to the fingertips in both children and adults. She has specialized training in techniques for hand, wrist, and elbow, including arthroscopy, microsurgery, nerve and tendon repair and reconstruction, small joint replacement, sports injuries, wide-awake hand surgery, and work-related injuries. She also has vast experience with shoulder arthroplasty. She has a particular interest in upper extremity fracture care, including joint replacement for fractures. Dr. Clarke believes in individualized treatment for each patient depending on their goals and interests.
In her free time, Dr. Clarke enjoys traveling, particularly when it involves scuba diving and experiencing new foods. She is an avid cook and frequently hosts friends and family for cookouts. She also enjoys beach volleyball, skiing, and golfing, and hopes to obtain more advanced sailing certifications soon.
